New Moon Psychotherapy and Wellness
Therapy for Life Transitions, Emotional Healing, and Personal Transformation
About

People usually reach out to therapy because something isn't working anymore. Maybe anxiety feels louder, old patterns keep repeating, or a life transition has thrown everything off balance. My work is about helping you understand what's happening and supporting you in finding ways to move through it with more steadiness, clarity, and choice.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, perinatal mental health challenges, trauma, and life transitions. In our sessions, we slow things down, notice patterns, explore what matters to you, and build practical tools that help you feel calmer, more connected, and more able to navigate daily life.
The Work We Do Together
With over a decade of clinical experience and multiple advanced certifications, my work is grounded in solid clinical training while also honoring lived experience, cultural wisdom, and the ways people learn to adapt long before they ever step into therapy.
What that looks like in practice:

-
Connecting the Dots: Using psychodynamic therapy, we explore the "why" behind your current struggles, seeing the thread between past experiences and present-day patterns. Instead of feeling blindsided by your own reactions, you'll start to understand the logic behind them.
-
In practice: Instead of getting stuck in the same cycles, you can recognize what's happening and respond in ways that reflect your present reality, not outdated survival strategies.

-
-
Learning to Pause: Through mindfulness-based approaches, we practice the art of slowing down and checking in with your body. You'll learn to notice the physical signals (the tightness of anxiety, the heat of anger) before they take over.
-
In practice: You gain breathing room between a stressful event and your reaction, meaning fewer blow-ups or shutdowns and a much greater sense of calm in high-pressure moments.
-

-
Shifting Patterns: With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we get specific about unhelpful thought patterns and build a toolkit of practical strategies to shift those stories into something more balanced and grounded.
-
In practice: When an intrusive thought hits, you'll have strategies to de-escalate it. You'll leave sessions with a clear plan to handle daily challenges without getting stuck in a spiral,

Working with me tends to feel active and collaborative. Therapy shouldn't feel like talking to a wall; you can expect questions, reflections, and feedback as we explore what's happening for you. Together, we notice patterns, make sense of your experiences, and leave space for relief, insight, and even moments of humor.
My Background and Perspective
My foundation as a former pediatric psychotherapist profoundly shapes this work. Years of working with children gave me insight into how early relationships and family dynamics shape us. That lens is particularly valuable for people processing difficult childhoods, as well as parents navigating the complex emotional journey of raising children.

As a bilingual (Spanish/English) Latina therapist, I'm attuned to how identity and language shape emotional well-being. I bring an intersectional lens to therapy, where we can explore how race, gender, sexuality, culture, and other aspects of identity show up in your life. I often work with English-dominant clients who are multilingual, and I especially welcome the use of whatever language feels most emotionally resonant in the moment, even if it's one I don't speak. Some experiences are simply best expressed in the language they were lived in.

Beyond the Session
I’m a firm believer that to do deep, transformative work, we also have to make space for the things that make us feel human and alive. The authenticity and curiosity I bring to our sessions are rooted in how I show up in my own life.
When I’m not working, you can find me practicing yoga (very imperfectly), diving deep into whatever topic is sparking my interest that day, or having a living room dance party to Bad Bunny with my kid. I value honesty, openness, and play, and I do my best to bring that energy into our sessions.
